LSU-Ole Miss one for the ages

Nostalgia is running high on both sides of the southernmost section of the Mississippi River this week. Ole Miss-LSU is once again a nationally relevant rivalry. From 1958-65, at least one of the two was ranked in the Top Ten every time they met. No game was more memorable than the '59 meeting in Baton Rouge. Archie Manning, Eli's dad and an all-time Ole Miss hero, goes all the way back to that game. It was one of the most famous in SEC history: Billy Cannon's epic 89-yard punt return on Halloween night gave No. 1 LSU a 7-3 win over No. 3 Ole Miss. Archie told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger that he was 10 years old, listening to the game on the radio at home in Drew, Miss., with his dad.
