First-year coach Guy Morriss has exceeded expectations, with a three-game winning streak -- longest since early in the 1996 season -- and a Big 12 win over defending North Division champ Colorado. Any delusions that the Bears were ready to compete in the Big 12, though, were shattered by a 73-10 loss to an A&M team that's not going anywhere this season either.

The Bears need to be content with building confidence in their offensive line and getting redshirting freshman Terrance Parks -- a quarterback in the mold of Reggie McNeal and Vince Young -- ready to challenge Aaron Karas for the starting job in the spring.
