MAC QB tradition continues in West
The MAC's quarterback tradition continues in 2004 with Northern Illinois' Josh Haldi and Toledo's Bruce Radkowski.

Editor's note: ESPN.com's Mel Kiper Jr. continues his look at the best players in each conference by examining the top five players on the rosters of each team in the MAC West division (schools listed in alphabetical order).
Ball State Cardinals
1. Justin Beriault, S, sr. -- A 6-foot-2½, 200-pound fifth-year senior who is a team leader as well as the Cardinals' best player. Beriault has great athletic ability and led Ball State with 145 total tackles last season.
2. Dante Ridgeway, WR, jr. -- Caught 89 passes last year for a 12.1-yard average, including 10 touchdowns, and goes 6-1, 200 pound.
3. Donta Smith, LB, jr. -- A middle linebacker who had 57 tackles last year, Smith will team with Beriault as the strong point of the defense.
4. Bryan Williamson, WR, so. -- Has good size at 6-2½, 205 and caught 36 passes last season.
5. Ryan Hahaj, WR, jr. -- Will team with Ridgeway and Smith to form the strength of the offense. Hahai had 29 receptions in 2003.
