Underclassmen making a mark

A look at Mel Kiper's top five draft-eligible NFL prospects by position (including worthy underclassmen who declared).

Here's a look at my updated lists of the top five draft-eligible NFL prospects at each position -- including a projection of the round I expect each to be drafted in.

USC sophomore WR Mike Williams took advantage of the court ruling in the Maurice Clarett case and declared himself eligible for the draft, immediately challenging Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald not only as the top wideout in the draft but also for the top spot on my updated Big Board of the top 25 NFL prospects. Both figure to be high first-round selections.

Williams also brings the number of underclassmen on the following top-five lists to 23, including seven who are the top players at their positions (at RB, WR, TE, DE, DT, CB and S).
