Peterson hoping for happy return

A stingy defense and the return of Paul Peterson will give Boston College the win over its future conference rival.

Boston College will move to the Atlantic Coast Conference next year, and North Carolina doesn't want to give its new conference rival any confidence heading into next season. Both of these teams know how to win in the postseason.

Who: Boston College vs. N. Carolina
When: Dec. 30, 1 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
Where: Charlotte, N.C.
The Eagles are the only program in the nation to win a bowl in each of the last four years, while the Tar Heels are just one of two schools in the nation to win each of their last five bowl games.

Boston College could get an emotional boost from the return of QB Paul Peterson, who missed the regular-season finale with a broken hand. However, North Carolina has the advantage of playing in Charlotte, where it's 15-2-2 all time. Will the Eagles prove they belong in the ACC or will the Tar Heels get the win in their home state?
