COACH AND PROGRAM
All is well that ends well. Florida A&M was a preseason pick by the MEAC coaches and sports information directors to win the 2004 league championship, and that's what ended up happening. The Rattlers claimed their third MEAC championship with three wins at the league tournament. Mike Gillespie's team then put on an impressive performance in the NCAA Tournament as the Rattlers routed Lehigh, 72-57, in the play-in game and then gave top-seeded Kentucky a pretty good scare for 30 minutes before falling, 96-76.
