COACH AND PROGRAM
Jackson State coach Tevester Anderson thought he had seen it all after more than four decades of coaching basketball. That was before he went through his first full season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. "It was definitely a learning experience for me," Anderson said. "It was a little different than the places I've coached before. I had to get adjusted to everything ... officiating, players, coaches, everything. I know more now about what to expect and how to prepare, and I know what I need in order to compete day in and day out." Anderson took a mix of players left behind by former coach Andy Stoglin and players he brought in and finished 12-17 overall and 9-9 in the SWAC. The Tigers, picked to finish seventh in the preseason, finished in a five-way tie for fourth.
