There are those who believe the rise of UTEP from the dark dungeons of defeat is the most intriguing story in WAC basketball.
And it's hard to argue with that logic when considering the Miners executed the single-best about-face in NCAA history last March.
But perhaps even more interesting is the recent rise and fall at the University of Tulsa. For more years than even the most ardent Golden Hurricane fan can count, Tulsa has been a mainstay in the NCAA Tournament, usually pulling a surprise or two along the way.
