Southern Methodist doesn't belong near the WAC cellar door.
With all the talent that has passed through the Hilltop campus, it just doesn't make sense. Still, over the last five years, the Mustangs have slid slowly down the ratings chart. Their once proud RPI number of 49 looks more like an RIP sign at 170.
They have been blessed with some of the best backcourts in the league, but never got the chance to show anyone on the NCAA Tournament stage. One month they would beat Purdue. The next they would lose to Rice by 40.
