Blue Ribbon Illustrated previews the 2004-05 college basketball season, exclusively on Insider.
It took five years for former Nevada head coach Phil Johnson to take Nevada from a seven-win campaign at the end of the 20th century to a school-record 25 victories last season.
Johnson told anyone who would listen that the Wolf Pack would need time to be competitive, but if given the proper resources and belief system, good things would happen.
Well, things worked out too well for the Wolf Pack last season en route to their first Sweet 16 appearance: over the summer they lost Johnson to Stanford and top player Kirk Snyder to the Utah Jazz.
