Bill Carmody won Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year honors last season and his team won newfound respect by going .500 in the league for the first time since 1968.

Bill Carmody won Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year honors last season and his team won newfound respect by going .500 in the league for the first time since 1968.
Considering the Wildcats featured only one senior and a mere eight scholarship players, many fans deemed the season an unabashed success.
Still, Carmody doesn't want his players to confuse accomplishment with merely surpassing the program's typically low expectations.
"They're just starved around here," Carmody said. "They're excited about the progress, but there has to be a balance with our players, because we haven't done anything yet."
