Randy Monroe waited almost 20 years to become the head coach of a college basketball team, and his first opportunity will come at the same place where he has spent half of his career as an assistant.
Monroe was promoted to head coach at UMBC on March 23, less than two weeks after the university accepted the resignation of former head coach Tom Sullivan.
