COACH AND PROGRAM
After compiling 35 victories over his first three years, coach Johnny Jones' North Texas program appears to have the potential for a breakout season.
Much of the optimism is based on Jones having someone he can hand the ball to for the next two years in 6-0 junior point guard Isaac Hines (11.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 5.1 apg), who led Collin County (Texas) Community College to a 29-3 record and No. 2 national ranking.
Hines joins fellow Dallas native 6-3 senior Leonard Hopkins (14.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg) in a talented backcourt that will also feature 6-5 sophomore Calvin Watson (8.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg).
