Armed with a two-year contract extension received after leading Kansas State to its best season in recent history, coach Jim Wooldridge enters the season believing his Wildcats can challenge for a spot in the upper echelon of the Big 12.
"The Big 12 has been one of the top three leagues in the country the last three years," Wooldridge said. "I know it will be strong again, but this is kind of an opportunity for a lot of teams [to move up the standings] with several teams having to replace key seniors."
