Last season was supposed to be the merry confluence of ambition and opportunity for the Ball State Cardinals.
Head coach Tim Buckley had lined up a rigorous schedule, featuring Dayton, Xavier, Indiana, Butler and Western Kentucky, designed to jack up Ball State's RPI regardless of his stocked team's finish in the MAC. Yes, the Cardinals were going to dance in the NCAA Tournament, by hook or crook.
