Team preview: Princeton
Blue Ribbon Illustrated previews the 2003-04 college basketball season, exclusively on Insider.
For the first time in recent memory, there is no real favorite this season in the Ivy. Princeton coach John Thompson has been following the league since 1984, when he was a freshman forward with the Tigers, and he doesn't recall anything close to this season's expected balance.
"There no doubt about it, this year the league is more balanced, yet as strong, as any in my 20 years,'' said Thompson, son of the former Hall of Fame Georgetown coach. "I don't know who the favorite is, any number of teams could be, and come March, I will not be surprised if several teams are atop the standings.''
