Months after the fact, Cal Poly coach Kevin Bromley coach still had the memory of 57-54 loss to Utah State in the 2003 Big West Conference championship game lingering in the back of his mind. It was a night when his star guard couldn't get anything to fall and his team fell those scant three points short of its season goal.
And that's why you take heed when he says with all seriousness that he really likes this year's team, despite the loss of his point guard and a non-conference schedule dotted with the likes of California, Colorado, San Diego State and USC.
