Injuries hit Dick Davey's Santa Clara program like the second coming of the plague last season. So many players went down, in fact, that three walk-ons started at some point in the season.
So all Davey can do is look at his roster, cross his fingers and hope his players can stay as far away from an operating table as is humanly possible.
