Welcome to Year One A.D. (after David) on Xavier's campus, where the Musketeers will begin life without the 2003 Associated Press National Player of the Year and three-time Atlantic 10 Player-of-the-Year David West.
West's name was on virtually every All-America team last year and the honors were well deserved. The 6-9 West did it all for Xavier. He scored, rebounded and was a capable and willing passer out of the low blocks. Blessed with Dr. J sized hands, West was a rebounding demon and could score against frontcourt players from any conference. Those skills made him the 18th overall selection in last spring's NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets.
