Just when it looked as if the Northwestern Wildcats had turned the corner, they ran smack into a brick wall.
Coming off their best two-year run in 40 years, the 'Cats were hoping to improve on their 16-13 record and perhaps sneak into at least the NIT. Instead, Northwestern wilted after an 8-3 non-conference season and slipped to 10th in the Big Ten, staying home for yet another March.
