Cavalier move for Leitao?
DePaul's Dave Leitao is a finalist for the Virginia job. But where the job search goes from here is still anyone's guess.
Leitao talked to Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage at the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational on Friday morning while he was watching two of his DePaul players participate in the event. He flew back to Chicago in the afternoon and was at an athletic department function that afternoon. He didn't tell his staff about the talk with Littlepage, nor did he dissuade any of his assistant coaches from going out on the road or scheduling recruiting visits for him.
According to one source close to the search, Leitao is still in the mix, but Virginia isn't ready to make an offer Monday or expedite the hire. There still could be other candidates who aren't being reported on at this juncture.
