Wild and crazy signing day

Signing day started with QB Ryan Perrilloux's long-expected switch from Texas to LSU, and the excitement never slowed down. Florida State came on strong, as it always does. USC and Oklahoma flexed its muscles. Nebraska and Iowa joined the usual suspects in the top 10, while Miami and Texas fell out of the top 10. Whew.

What will I remember most about signing day 2005? The start-to-finish strength of Nebraska, Tennessee and USC. Let's take a quick look at signing day 2005.

NebraskaNebraska signed the kind of class that could elevate the Huskers back to the top of college football within two years. It was that good. Nebraska's combination of JC and high school All-Americans should pay immediate dividends. As many as six JC prospects could play right away and look for freshman RB Marlon Lucky and freshman LB Phillip Dillard to contribute early.
