Editor's note: Look for Tom Lemming's 2004 Recruiting Road Trip reports every Tuesday and Friday.

It's never a great year for football talent in the New England area, but every couple of years a few gems will emerge, particularly in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

One of those gems is quarterback Zack Asack (6-4, 185) from Westwood (Xavierian Brothers), Mass. His arm strength and ability to run out of trouble was very impressive on film. Asack also throws the deep ball well and is cool under pressure. His father, Phil Asack played, for Duke and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers. Duke and Boston College lead.
