• Summary: Brandon Webb tossed his third straight shutout and stretched his scoreless streak to 42 innings, as the Diamondbacks blanked the Braves 4-0.
• The whole story: Webb allowed just two hits while striking out six and walking one. • Figure this: Webb is 18 innings away -- two more shutouts -- from breaking Orel Hershiser's record of 59 straight scoreless innings in 1988. • Quotable: "Just two more shutouts? Oh, I should have that no problem. It's in the back pocket." -- said Webb, rolling his eyes • Unsung hero: Chris Young picked up his second two-homer game of the week with two solo shots. -- ESPN.com news services |
