What has a better chance of happening: The Dodgers sign Carlos Beltran, or the Dodgers sign Carlos Delgado?

Jay,
Let's start with an inventory of the Dodgers' in-house business this winter. They'd like to work out long-term contracts with third baseman Adrian Beltre and closer Eric Gagne, who'll be in for the mother of all arbitration hearings if he doesn't sign a multiyear deal. Beltre and Gagne are both represented by agent Scott Boras, who also represents Carlos Beltran. Boras has already designated Beltre and Beltran as "special'' players -- which is code for, "Be prepared to pay a ton'' -- so it's tough to see both of them in Dodger uniforms next season.
