Different deliveries, same fundamentals

While my delivery featured an unusual hesitation, the fundamentals of pitching hold true for everyone.

One year at the Hall of Fame Game in Cooperstown, Ted Williams told me (and it blew me away) that he would have had trouble hitting off me. Surprised, I asked if it was because I threw hard or utilized a slider.

He said, "No, none of that -- because of that hesitation you have in your delivery."

What he was referring to was the way I wrapped the ball with my wrist behind my back, which created a sort of hesitation in my motion.
