Shortstop turned down lucrative offer

Major League Baseball is moving closer to a decision on the Montreal Expos, who should find out after the All-Star break (or sometime in the next three years) whether they're headed for Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Las Vegas, Portland, Norfolk, Puerto Rico or Monterrey, Mexico.

Orlando Cabrera, Montreal's starting shortstop since 1998, is pleased to hear things are looking up for "Team Instability." But he doesn't plan on sticking around to see the resolution first-hand.
