Philadelphia hasn't forgiven Rolen

Did fans in Philadelphia mistreat Scott Rolen? Is Larry Lucchino cheap? Answers to these, and plenty more.

Not surprisingly, we received numerous emails from Philadelphia fans who were upset that Terry Gobert, Scott Rolen's high school coach, questioned their intelligence for allegedly running Rolen out of town. Quite surprisingly, the responses were reasoned, thoughtful and devoid of the bitterness typically ascribed to Philadelphia fans. There were clearly no WIP radio listeners in this bunch.

We dip into the mail this week for a little Rolen, a little Larry Lucchino on ballparks, and a few other salient issues.

Thanks for your story about Scott Rolen. I must point out, however, to that hick town coach who watches baseball on TV (which apparently makes him an expert) that Philadelphia sports fans didn't boo Scott Rolen while he played here. In fact they loved him just as much as Cardinals fans love him now.
