Angels anything but quiet

Jerry,

Why is no one making a bigger deal of what is going on in Anaheim? If Bartolo Colon had gone to Boston or New York, it would have been the biggest news since Ruth was traded. Instead all I read about is how "quiet" the West Coast teams have been this offseason. The additions of Colon, Escobar, Guillen and soon (Rafael) Palmeiro don't seem very "quiet" to me.

Injuries and a lack of pitching depth were the only things that prevented the Angels from successfully defending their title last year. Glaus, Erstad, Eckstein and Washburn are completely healthy, and our new additions make us instant contenders (if not favorites) to get back to the big dance. So I am actually glad that we are off everyone's radar. Please do everything you can to keep it that way so come October we can still be a "Cinderella" team. We'll get our attention when it actually counts.

Chris,
While I find the image of Bartolo Colon in a glass slipper somewhat unsettling, you make an excellent point.
