Juan Cruz almost threw a no-hitter for West Tennessee Saturday, but lost it (and the shutout and the victory) when he gave up a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning, ending up on the losing end of a 1-0 contest. He's had a few rough patches this year, but remains a top prospect, one of the crown jewels of a revitalized Cubs farm system.
