Riveting rivalries

Allyson Felix vs.
Veronica Campbell-Brown

American and Jamaican sprinters have long matched each other footfall for footfall. These days, the shoes making most of the noise belong to Allyson Felix and Veronica Campbell-Brown. Their personal drama began for real at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where Campbell-Brown took gold and Felix silver in the 200 meters. The pair has swiped every gold and all but two silvers in the event over the past two Games and four world championships. Which one is faster depends on the day. Felix (left in photo) is a three-time world champ and two-time Olympic silver medalist; Campbell-Brown has one world championship and two Olympic golds. "We've been going at it a long time," Felix says. And they'll go at it again this summer in London.
