Teresa Noyola

Noyola's life has been a Mexican-American blend, right down to her soccer career. Born in Mexico, she came to the U.S. as a 3-year-old, when her parents enrolled in grad school at Stanford. Noyola ran with the Americans at the 2010 Under-20 World Cup. She also led the Cardinal to the national championship last fall, scoring the lone goal in the title game. That's just the top of a résumé that includes the Honda Sports Award as the country's best player, back-to-back first-team All-America honors and a Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year award. Next up, the Summer Olympics, where Noyola will represent ... Mexico. She says she always planned to go home, and now she is, bringing "the commitment to fitness and never-say-die mentality that U.S. players are ingrained with." It's a combination that has made her one of the best in both worlds.
