Nine sweet streaks from the past 40 years
There has never been a Lady Vol-less NCAA basketball tournament. That's 32 straight for Pat Summitt's cagers. A few years ago, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh spiked 112 beach volleyball foes in a row. And from 1973-79, Chris Evert (shown here) won 125 consecutive matches on clay. To put that in perspective, while three presidents passed through the White House, Evert remained commander of the red courts. Every so often, an athlete or team dominates so many games in a row, sometimes even years in a row, that we can't help but cheer for Goliath. The names above are just a few from across the decades. Here, we highlight nine more remarkable runs. Some are familiar; others should be. All represent greatness uninterrupted.
