CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri's Kenton Parmley has gone without a hit against Tennessee Tech, ending his hitting streak at 47 games -- tied for the third-longest in NCAA Division I history.

Parmley, whose streak began on May 17, 2011, against Mississippi, went 0 for 3 in the Redhawks' 3-1 victory Sunday. The senior shortstop, hitting .402 this season, has still reached base safely in 57 straight games after being hit by a pitch.

Parmley tied Phil Stephenson of Wichita State (1981) on the Division I list. Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura holds the record by hitting in 58 straight games in 1987 with Oklahoma State. Florida International's Garrett Wittels hit in 56 consecutive games in 2010.

Parmley had 25 multihit games, and three or more hits nine times during his streak.
