Week 17: This is it!

Well, this is it. Sixteen weeks of the NFL season comes down to one week, a critical Saturday night game and 15 other matchups on a busy Sunday. I know that some of your fantasy seasons have already ended, but thanks for sticking around with us in ESPN Fantasy Games anyway. Hope you enjoyed the season. We'll be wrapping it up next week and preparing for 2007 drafts. Yep, there is no offseason anymore!

Saturday, Redskins 24, Giants 14: First of all, let's get something clear on whom the Eagles' biggest rival is. It's not the Giants. It's Dallas. Not even a question. Sure, I don't like the Giants, and I wouldn't mind seeing Jason Campbell throw for 300 yards and bury them. But the Giants could lose and still slip into the playoffs, since all of the 7-8 NFC teams are on the road in tough games! And if Philly wins over Atlanta, who knows, then the Eagles could host the Giants in the first round! And you know what, I don't want that. Scared? You bet. Give me the Packers or Panthers instead! The Cowboys are the Eagles' biggest rival. Beating the Cardinals, for example, on Christmas night wouldn't have meant the same thing.

Anyway, Giants need to win not only to make the postseason, but to prove they aren't the dog team plenty of people think they are. This team was 6-2 and two games up in the NFC East! Now they might not even win eight games? Reminds me of the final Rich Kotite season in Philly. Eagles were 7-2, and cruising. Then they didn't win again! Nothing against Tom Coughlin, but he'd better win this one. It's not like Eli Manning will be run out of town, you know. Always happens to the coach.
