Those who don't live in the Northeast part of the United States think the Yankees and Red Sox get too much attention. Well, there's a reason for that. The teams are good, they're interesting, they spend the most money, etc. And the extra attention to those franchises even applies to fantasy. While half the Royals, Rockies, Nationals (and quite a few other teams) aren't going to play major roles in fantasy, how many members of the Yankees and Red Sox won't matter?
These teams have the most money to spend, so it makes sense they'll pile up the stars. Just like in fantasy, it might not matter who you have on your team, you still might not win. The Red Sox were champs two years ago, but last year, despite scoring many, many runs, they were quickly sent home in the postseason. The Yankees always get to the playoffs, but haven't won it all in ... how many years is it?

And Bristol, Conn. -- home of a nice two-foot snow storm yesterday, by the way -- is generally split in half when it comes to fans of the Yanks and Sawx. I haven't seen too many Blue Jays fans lurking at the local McDonald's -- hey, we've got a McDonald's in Bristol -- but that's actually the AL East team that made the most noise this offseason.
