Well, it's finally over. Seventeen long weeks of preparing for and agonizing over lineup decisions came down to Sunday night, the Rams at the Cowboys, and I know about plenty of leagues in which it all came down to the final plays.
How can we ask for more than that? Obviously, if you were in the championship game of your league, and it was Week 17, then the choices you made weren't easy. We knew Josh McCown was a better pick than Peyton Manning, and Vernand Morency would outscore Corey Dillon. Now how often is that going to happen?
I know a guy who foolishly played Marvin Harrison because he thought he'd score a touchdown. Another guy lost his league because he left Jonathan Wells in there, and didn't bother to see that Wells was placed on injured reserve two days before the game. He had other options. Finally, in a league I won, my opponent had been using the Falcons D all season, and justifiably so; it was ranked 10th for the year in fantasy. On his bench was the rarely used Rams D. Well, in Week 17 the Rams D scored 17 on Dallas, and Atlanta got a minus-six. That's how he lost and I won.
