Will he or won't he play tonight? That's what everyone is asking when it comes to Barry Bonds, who has yet to play in a single game in 2005. The Giants, somehow still in a pennant race, need him back. Why wouldn't they?

Here's the thing about Bonds: When he comes back, will he play every day? And will he be productive? OK, I'm assuming Bonds will hit -- we're told he hit home runs with relative ease in batting practice earlier this week, and the pitching staffs in the NL West aren't much better than batting-practice pitchers -- but will Bonds hit more home runs than the guy you're taking out of the lineup to move him in?
