PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Matt Harvey has reached an agreement with the team on his rehab location.

According to Sandy Alderson, Harvey will rehab in New York when the Mets are at home and rehab at the team's Florida complex when the Mets are on the road early in the season. In June, when Harvey is expected to begin throwing off a mound and then start facing batters, Harvey will settle into Port St. Lucie for the serious rehab phase.

Harvey could not be compelled to spend more than 20 rehab days at the Mets' Florida complex without his consent.

Alderson had tried to make light of the issue early Tuesday. Passing through the clubhouse, the GM joked: "I'm looking for Matt Harvey, but I guess he's in New York already."
