It turns out that Pedro Feliciano's absence from Class A St. Lucie games was more than skipping a Florida State League road trip. Feliciano had a serious case of food poisoning, multiple people aware of the issue told ESPNNewYork.com.

Because doctors detected a heart issue with Feliciano during spring training, they were particularly concerned and hospitalized the lefty reliever.

The Mets hope to get Feliciano back on a mound this week.
