Chris Capuano got some help with his delivery this season -- from none other than Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax.
Let's let Capuano explain:
"It’s called 'hooking the rubber,' Capuano said. "Instead of standing with your foot in front of the rubber, you kind of put your back cleat on top of it so you can get a little more pushoff. And, I think that’s helped me with my location and helped keep my velocity up. Not where his velocity used to be, but good for me."
The 32-year-old Capuano has been pitching well of late. In his last three outings, he's allowed just three earned runs over 19 innings.
"The biggest thing that I take away is just that he talks about no matter what kind of stuff you have, he still had to work on the outside three inches and the inside three inches to be effective," Capuano said. "And in that way pitching hasn’t changed. In that way, you still have to the put the ball where you want to be successful."
Koufax was a special guest of Fred Wilpon, and sat in the owner's box. He's also helped out Mets' pitchers in spring training.
"I just got to say, 'Thank you,'" Capuano said. "I saw him in the spring and then talked to him (Sunday). It’s been nice."
STAT OF THE GAME: The top six batters in the Mets' lineup combined to go 3-for-22 on Sunday afternoon with three RBIs, five walks, three strikeouts and a run scored. They left 16 men on base between them. And don't forget, two of those three hits came in the ninth inning.
QUOTE OF THE GAME "We don’t want to play .500 baseball ... .500 baseball gets you nowhere." -- catcher Josh Thole on the Mets falling to 35-37.

I'm confident Ike will be with #Mets Friday, barring something unforeseen. Don't know how much time he has, though, with glare intensifying.
