Sandy Alderson all but predicts Rule 5 picks Pedro Beato (left) and Brad Emaus will make the Mets' Opening Day roster.
Good news for Brad Emaus and Pedro Beato.

It's been our projection from the beginning, but GM Sandy Alderson tells Mets bloggers there's a "very good possibility" that both Rule 5 picks are making the club.

With Emaus, that move became further obvious Wednesday when Justin Turner was optioned to minor league camp.

Beato should join Francisco Rodriguez, Bobby Parnell, D.J. Carrasco, Tim Byrdak and Taylor Buchholz in the bullpen. That leaves one spot, and Blaine Boyer -- who can opt out of his minor league contract on Thursday and become a free agent -- appears to have the edge at this point. That would leave sentimental favoritate Jason Isringhausen, out-of-options Manny Acosta and Pat Misch as well as Mike O'Connor (who is in camp on a minor league deal) left off.

Still, Alderson insisted there's still debate to be had.
