Mets executive Paul DePodesta, who is overseeing the minor leagues, said the team's camp for 25 top prospects not in big league camp is scheduled to have its first workout Thursday afternoon. It will culminate with a game against Team Italy on March 5, the day other minor leaguers are due to report.

DePodesta said the camp will include right-hander Matt Harvey, who was last year's first-round pick out of the University of North Carolina. Other participants: Wilmer Flores, Matt den Dekker, Cory Vaughn, Greg Peavey, Blake Forsythe, Darrell Ceciliani, Cesar Puello and Jeurys Familia.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
