Pagan will be arbitration-eligible one more time next offseason before being eligible for free agency during the 2012-13 winter.
Pagan had requested $4.2 million, with the club countering at $3.0625 million. He made $1,662,500 in 2010.
"For the first time in my career I have a spot on the team," Pagan said in a statement released by the team. "But I'm not taking anything for granted. I can’t wait for spring training to start. I think we’ll be better than people are predicting."
With R.A. Dickey signing a two-year deal and Mike Pelfrey agreeing to a one-year contract guaranteeing $3.925 million, the Mets have no arbitration-eligible players remaining.
