The Mets, who need relief help, are having fruitful negotiations with D.J. Carrasco. The 33-year-old right-hander split last season between Pittsburgh and Arizona, going a combined 3-2 with a 3.68 ERA in 63 relief appearances.

Aside from Francisco Rodriguez and Bobby Parnell, the Mets have few givens in their bullpen. The top other internal choices are Ryota Igarashi and Manny Acosta.
