Rudy Terrasas, who has run the Mets' drafts since 2006, will not remain in that position, a team source confirmed. Terrasas has a year remaining on his contract and could be reassigned within the organization.

Terrasas clearly was in a precarious position with overhaul of the front office and the organization's recent draft record.

Paul DePodesta came on board with the title of vice president for player development and amateur scouting.

SI.com first reported Terrasas had been ousted.

The Mets' top three draft picks under Terrasas each year:

2006
Kevin Mulvey, RHP, second round
Joe Smith, RHP, third round
John Holdzkom, RHP, fourth round

2007
Eddie Kunz, RHP, first-supplemental
Nathan Vineyard, LHP, first-supplemental
Scott Moviel, RHP, second round

2008
Ike Davis, 1B, first round
Reese Havens, SS, first round
Brad Holt, RHP, first-supplemental

2009

Robbie Shields, SS, third round
Darrell Ceciliani, OF, fourth round

2010
