Marlins assistant GM Dan Jennings remains in play for the Mets GM job despite a report earlier in the day he had been denied permission to interview, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports. Jennings has a short list of teams for which he may interview without the Marlins' consent, and the Mets are included on that list, according to a source.

Jennings has a contract with the Florida Marlins that runs through 2015.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
