Special teams playing a role; 7-0 A&M
But on the opening kickoff, Texas A&M's Coryell Judie took the ball 69 yards to the LSU 31-yard line and five plays later the Aggies had a 7-0 lead. So the early big play on special teams went to the Aggies.
Texas A&M stopped Peterson on the ensuing kickoff, but on LSU's punt (after the Aggie defense held), A&M was called for roughing the kicker to give LSU a first down.
Aggies coach Mike Sherman felt special teams were going to be even more critical in this game than they were during the regular season for Texas A&M. So far, he appears to be on the mark with that prediction.
