PASADENA, Calif. -- TCU quarterback has started off the Rose Bowl in storybook fashion. Two drives, two touchdowns for a 14-10 lead with 36 seconds left in the first quarter.

Dalton has been on the money. The big blow was a 44-yard bomb to Josh Boyce that set up TCU at the Wisconsin 12. Dalton that ran it three plays in a row, the last a keeper that he took to the left corner and beat the Badgers' defense to the pylon.

Wisconsin had just taken a 10-7 lead on a drive that elasped three minutes. Dalton needed just 2:38 to retake the lead.

Dalton is 5-of-7 for 101 yards. He was 4-of-6 on the opening drive. He's also rushed seven times for 31 yards.

The Badgers have racked up 132 yards in the first quarter against TCU's No. 1-ranked defense.

The 24 combined first-quarter points is the most scored in the first quarter of any Rose Bowl game. The previous mark was 17, most recently done in 1993 between Michigan and Washington. It's also the first time both teams scored in double digits in the first quarter.
