Low-key Jeremy Kerley ready in own way
"I’m kind of like that guy that when I step out on the field I have a clear head, whatever happens, happens," Kerley said. "I leave it out on the field."
That's not say that Kerley isn't ready for this one. He declared himself 100 percent healthy after he had injured his hamstring late in the regular season.
Kerley has had a magnificent senior season. He led the Frogs with a career-high 50 receptions for 517 yards, just shy of the 532 he racked up last season, and he caught 10 touchdowns, eight more than last season.
He is one of just two players in the nation to rank in the top 20 in punt returns and kickoff returns and he's averaging a career-best 28.0 yards per kickoff return. Kerley knows special teams could be a difference-maker against the Wisconsin Badges, yet he said he hasn't peeked through his mind's eye and seen himself running for daylight in front of 100,000 fans on a beautiful Southern California afternoon.
"No, but I'm ready," he said. "It’s my final one so what better way to go out with a win and [feeling] 100 percent on top of that. I’m ready, my teammates are ready. It’s a big stage, but we’ll be ready for it."
